Over 40,000 people sign petition for Obama to run for the president of France

Some French Citizens, faced between the choice of electing scandal-hit politicians, are opting to hire Barack Obama as the president of France.

A campaign spreading across France has garnered support with over 40,000 people putting their signature on a petition to have Obama run for the French presidency.
Organizers of the unofficial Obama17 campaign have spread posters across Paris with the slogan "Oui on peut" which translates in English to mean "Yes we can ".

The organizers of the campaign revealed that they are aiming to get a million signatures by May 15th. Though aware that it will be impossible for a foreign national to contest for the seat of the president, the organizers revealed that the current election campaign in France is a failure and that the current situation of their country called for radical choices. They revealed that Obama has the best resumé in the world to do the job.

“The French are ready to make radical choices - that is good because we have a radical idea to propose to them,” a statement partly read. 

''To launch this 6th Republic, we wish to strike a blow by electing a foreign President as the leader of our beautiful country. 

“Barack Obama has completed his second term as President of the United States on 21 January, why not hire him as the President for France?”

Marine Le Pen, Emmanuel Macron, François Fillon, Benoît Hamon, Jean-Luc Mélenchon are candidates contesting for the President of the French Republic. Most of the candidates have been hit by scandals thereby causing citizens to campaign for a foreign president.

In the early hours of today, there was a fire incident at BankyW's home in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos (See here here). The singer has now revealed all that went down. In a post made via his Instagram page just now, he wrote,

So there's good news and bad news. The good news is... I'm thanking God that I'm alive to give the bad news as a testimony. Bad news is...

I was laying awake in bed at about 6am , and I just started smelling smoke. Stood up to shut off my tv and ac and realized it was coming from outside my door. Opened it to see the whole stairway was filled with huge gusts of black smoke/soot, and a fire was burning stuff downstairs. The smoke was so much I couldn't get down past it to see the source of the flames. Rushed back into my room and climbed down from the 2nd floor balcony with my dog... and then got help from the amazing workers and neighbours who helped me put out the flames.

Turns out the ac in the living room had caught fire.. I know a lot of ppl have been trying to call and I appreciate it. Maybe the fire burnt some of the network in the house because I can't receive calls LOL 😂, but instead of calling to say sorry pls just maybe say a prayer and thank God with me.

Thank God I was awake to smell the smoke. Thank God we caught it early enough and the damage wasn't so bad.. it basically burnt some of the stuff that was around it. So awards, portraits, and some small electronics. But thank God, Duke and I are alive and well. We only had to form James Bond and climb down from the top floor balcony LOL 😂😁 Thank God for my neighbors and the amazing workers in and around the compound for helping us escape via the balcony, helping put out the fire, and helping with the aftermath/cleaning.

Thank God for life. And I'm not even upset.. I'm just grateful for life and health and for the grace and mercy of God on my life. I figure I'm about to have the best year ever so the devil tried to throw a tantrum. But not today Satan. Not today, not ever. Now sit back and watch me be great. By God's grace. Amen. God bless you all.

Customers can choose from four dolls with female features and the club promises each one is washed and disinfected with anti-bacterial soap before it is re-used but customers are advised to 'still use a condom'. Each of the dolls, which cost £4,300 and weighs 40 kilograms, are made from silicone. Describing itself as 'the first sex dolls agency',

 Lumi Dolls website says:

Body of an old man killed in an accident left at the scene 24 hours later

The body of an unidentified old man who was knocked down by a motorcyclist at Dugbe junction, Oyo state is still lying at the scene of the accident 24 hours after it happened.

According to Facebook user, Kehinde Kayode, who shared the photos, he witnessed the accident which happened on 27th February, 2017 at 8:40 pm. He came back to the scene more than 24 hours later and found the lifeless body still lying on the road. He wrote;

"Ok this is serious...I closed from work and witnessed an accident around 8:40pm yesterday, old man was knocked down by one okada rider at this very busy dugbe junction in ibadan, OYO state....OK 24hrs later I came back to pay "Nepa bills" exactly 11:15am at that same junction and to my greatest surprise I found the lifeless body of that man still lying there and nobody seems to care about it."

Honest housekeeper gets brand new car gift from UAE-based Nigerian businessman for returning lost items

In a rare display of honesty, one Mr Williams Nwosu, who works as a housekeeper found and returned a bag containing large amount of money both in foreign and local currencies, passport, laptop and other important documents, all belonging to a UAE-based Nigerian man, Mr. Chidiebere Wisdom.

The businessman gifted Nwosu, a father of five with a brand new car in appreciation. Read the full report by Iroegbu Emenike:

"To Mr Williams Nwosu who hails from Ahiazu Mbaise, in Imo state, Monday the 27th of February 2017 is a day he will never forget in a hurry.

Mr. Nwosu who works as a house keeper received a brand new Honda civic for exhibiting a rare display of honest when he picked up an Ecolag bag belonging to a UAE based businessman Mr. Chidiebere Wisdom Nwaubani containing some valuable items like brand new and expensive mobile phones, an international passport with Dubai residential permit, a laptop, a diamond bank cheque book, an undisclosed amount of money both in foreign currencies and naira amongst other valuables, but returned it to the owner.

In appreciation Mr Chidiebere Nwaubani who expressed surprise at the level of honesty shown by Mr. Nwosu in this hard times decided to reward him with the gift of a brand new car. While handing over the car to Mr. Williams Nwosu in his office, Nwaubani said that though the bag contains some valuables including business documents, that what moved him into rewarding the man was his show of exceptional bravery and honesty, he also said he did what he did to encourage Nigerians to live an honest life and to also show people that honesty is the biggest virtue anybody can imbibe, he enjoined the youth to learn from Mr Nwosu who despite his condition decided not to take what does not belong to him.

In his response Mr Williams a father of five children who lost his taxi driving job and relocated to owerri when he could no longer cope with challenges of Lagos life without a job to cater for his family, said he was full of surprises and that never in his widest dream did he envisage owning a car after he lost his job, he said he relocated back to the east because of hardship and took the job of cleaning the compound of his relation in exchange and for an accommodation.

When asked why he did not tamper with the contents of the bag or help himself with some of the valuables or cash, he said he was not brought up in that manner and that what he did was what he was known for all his life, he said that no matter the degree of hardship that he can never steal or take what does not belong to him, he however showered blessings and thanks on Mr. Nwaubani whom he described as a kind hearted messiah, whom God had used to restore him back to business and prayed God to bless every of Mr. Ubani`s endeavors.

He said his advice is that the younger generation will live a life of honesty and hard work, eschew greed and always put God first in all they do, he said everyone should use him as an example of what the result of honesty should be and he prayed God to bless and replenish Mr. Nwaubani whom he said that God had used to wipe his tears.

Mario Gotze, the striker who scored Germany's winning goal in the 2014 FIFA World cup has been ruled out of football indefinitely as he's been diagnosed of 'metabolic disorders', a condition that has made his performance the last two years worrisome for his last two clubs- Bayern, Dortmund and his country, Germany.

Since 2011, Gotze has missed a total of 39 games due to 10 different muscle injuries. He 's been criticized by sports analysts for his general fitness and weight issues as he has struggled to build on his career since he gained world wide recognition after his world cup goal..
After failing to find a place for himself at Bayern Munich, the midfielder returned to Dortmund last summer, and has been a bench warmer this season.

Borussia Dortmund on it's official website wrote:

Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund will continue to be without midfielder Mario Götze for the time being. The 24-year-old World Cup winner has continually suffered with muscular problems in the last few months, prompting a comprehensive internal investigation into the possible causes.

Those investigations revealed the player has metabolic disturbances, rendering it absolutely necessary to withdraw him from team training for the time being. "I'm currently undergoing treatment and will do everything in my power to be back in training and helping my team to achieve our common goals as soon as possible," Götze said.

"We're happy to have now uncovered the reasons for Mario's difficulties and are convinced that his extraordinary abilities will give us additional quality once he has completely recovered from this," emphasised Borussia Dortmund's Sporting Director Michael Zorc, who continued: "Mario has the full backing and maximum support of everyone at BVB during his recovery!"

According to new reports, Arsene Wenger, Arsenal's coach since 1996 has rejected a mammoth £30m per year deal to manage in the Chinese super league, even though he isn't sure of his future at Arsenal following fan protests at the Emirates.

Wenger has a £8m-a-year deal with Arsenal that expires this summer, and has signaled that he'll still like to continue coaching but with his future still unclear, many people feel he should have accepted an offer as huge as this from China- which would have made him the highest earning coach in the world.

Chef  confessed to delivering the savage blows that killed his heiress girlfriend and was sentenced to life in prison

Jordan Matthews, 24, a pub chef, has been sentenced to life in prison for the death of his girlfriend, Xixi Bi, who died after being savagely brutalized by him at their flat in Llandaff, Cardiff, UK.

Xixi Bi is a student who moved to the UK from China to study aged 15. She was meant to run her family's multimillion-pound company when she came of age.
In April 2015 she began dating Jordan and through the course of their relationship, Jordan abused her several times, the last of which cost her life. Jordan Matthew attacked Xixi during an argument at their flat at about 1:30 a.m. on August 19 last year and by 8;30 a.m. she collapsed due to complications resulting from the injuries inflicted by Matthews.

When doctors examined Xixi's body they found evidence of nine previous rib fractures and a healing jaw fracture showing that she had suffered other abuses in the past by her boyfriend, who is reportedly a black belt holder in Karate.

It was revealed that prior to her death, Xixi became quieter, thinner and more withdrawn due to the abuse and neighbours reported that they often heard Matthews shouting at her. They told the court they heard him say things such as:

 "I don't want to do this, I've got to punish you for what you have done," and: "If you don't s*** my d*** I'm going to hit you."

 Jordan confessed to hitting his girlfriend, saying he is only half responsible for her death. He gave details of how he savagely beat her and pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denied murder, claiming he had not intended to kill her. He said:

 "After me and Xixi had an argument, I did throw her onto the sofa once but that was because when she came into the living room to grab a packet of fags, I said this really isn't the time to be sitting down and having a cigarette.  I asked her what she was doing, where she had been today, who she was with. She just would not tell me so I grabbed her by the front of her t-shirt, I picked her off the sofa and dragged her with one hand around the sofa and then I threw her into the bedroom.   

"I threw her into the cabinet, then I picked her up from there and then I punched her. She said something and I just lost it. I instantly punched her really really hard in the solar plex area. She instantly dropped to the floor. I held her up with both her hands in front under her arms.  I apologised to her and after that, we sat down and she had a little bit of water. She was shaking."

The court later heard that Jordan's action was as a result of seeing what he mistakenly believed to be a message from dating app Tinder on Xixi's phone.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday by Mrs Justice Davies after she outlined the abusive relationship between Matthews and Xixi Bi, who was described as "a generous and loving young woman". Justice Davies said to Jordan:

"When you met Xixi you were unemployed. She was the daughter of wealthy parents living in China. Xixi provided you with a home, clothing, she bought a car for you. You took what she gave."

Xixi Bi's brother, Zexun, lamented his sister's untimely death. According to him,

"She was intelligent and had the whole world in front of her. All this taken from her, due to Jordan Matthews and his selfish and violent attack on my sister... the heart has been ripped out of our family."

A Nigerian Teenager found not guilty of murdering 16-year-old rapper, Leoandro Osemeke in London

A 15-year-old boy has been cleared of murdering a Nigerian rapper who was stabbed to death at a teenage party.

The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was yesterday, found not guilty of killing 16-year-old Showkey, real name Leoandro Osemeke, on August 5, 2016.

The pair were among some 200 youngsters who descended on the home of a 16-year-old girl in Peckham, south London. Within 25 seconds of arriving, Showkey was stabbed twice in the chest, with one wound penetrating his heart. See previous post  here

At the time of his death, Showkey was to be a witness in the trial of three other teenagers who were later convicted of stabbing his friend, another aspiring rapper Myron Yarde, four months before. Myron, 17, was backed up against a wall in New Cross, south London, and stabbed five times in the legs on the evening of April 3 last year.

The trial into Showkey's death had heard how the invite to the party in Peckham" went viral" and the party soon became noisy and spilled out into Colgrove Road, prompting complaints from neighbours to police.

Prosecutor Lisa Wilding QC said Showkey was seen "smiling and joking" as he arrived at the house with his brother and two friends. But as he went inside, Showkey was stabbed more than once with a "Rambo-style" knife, she said.

Emergency services performed heart surgery on Showkey at the scene but he was pronounced dead an hour later. Ms Wilding had told jurors the issue was whether the defendant acted to defend himself with "reasonable force".

Following the earlier trial into the death of Showkey's friend Mdot, Old Bailey judge Nicholas Cooke QC called for an end to "the evil" of knife crime.

Whistleblower leads EFCC to recover 17 vehicles from ex-Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has recovered seventeen exotic vehicles in a warehouse of the former Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde located at Nnamdi Azikwe Street, Kaduna.

The recovery was sequel to an intelligence the commission received that stolen money and properties suspected to proceeds of crime were being stored in the warehouse.
Upon receipt of the intelligence, a team of operatives from the Kano Zonal Office were deployed to carry out the investigation.

On arrival at the location, two individuals who were discovered to be the custodians of the property, Dantala Mohammed and Ahmed Balarabe were presented with a search warrant. Upon executing the search warrant, a total of seventeen amongst them brand new cars, shuttle busses and SUVs were discovered.

Consequently, the vehicles and the two individuals who are now also suspects in the investigation were conveyed to the Commission’s zonal offices in Kaduna and Kano respectively for further investigation which revealed that the warehouse in question actually belongs to the former customs boss. 

Investigation is still ongoing and the two suspects arrested are in custody.
